As part of the Resist the DSEI* arms fair programme 5-15 September, MAW has organised leafletting events in London. (*Defence and Security Equipment International – a biennial defence and security trade exhibition.)
Friday 8 September 12noon – 4pm. We will leaflet outside the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET(near Westminster Abbey)
Wednesday 13 September 08:00 – 18:00. We will leaflet outside the Department for Business and Trade, Old Admiralty Building, Admiralty Pl, London SW1A 2DY
We are aiming to raise awareness of the connection between military activity and the climate crisis, and asking how we can hope to reach net zero without taking account of this. Download copies of the leaflets – On Course for Net Zero and DSEI 2023 flyer.
These will be non-confrontational events with no expectation of arrest. The purpose is to raise awareness of the issues by leafleting and talking to passers-by.
Do come along if you can, for all or part of the time, and spread the word to others – the more helpers the better.
