MAW Accreditation to COP26 in Glasgow

Two Executive Committee members travelled to Madrid for the COP25 in December 2019 with the large banner “War Causes Climate Change and Climate Change Causes War” which was seen by thousands of delegates and visitors outside the COP over several days and then took the banner to a major night demonstration, estimated at 500,000 people, led by Greta Thunberg.

They also attended an alternative COP25 at the Computense Universidad in Madrid, which attracted activists and students from many parts of the world. MAW was scheduled to give a talk at COP25 on the case for the mandatory inclusion of military carbon emissions against agreed limits for each country but were not called to speak. MAW has now officially applied for Observer Status Accreditation to the COP26 in Glasgow from 1^st to 12^th November 2021.
